Manatee drinking from garden hose-Cocoa-Whitley Marina The same manatee in an upright position. |
Manatees at Titusville Marina, Florida We had to dock carefully so as not to hit the manatees.
The dock master kept them out of the way. |
Osprey Nest-ICW-Titusville, Florida Ospreys like to nest in high places. The only high
places on the ICW are the channel markers. |
Porpoise-ICW-on the way to Jacksonville Beach, Florida As many times as we see them it
is always exciting to see porpoise in the wild.

Porpoise-ICW-on the way to Jacksonville
Beach, Florida
It is very hard to photograph porpoise
in the wild as they only come up to breathe. |
Duck Family-Jacksonville-Lambs Marina
This duck family enjoyed swimming near the stern
of our boat. It was fun watching them. |
Bird Rookery-St. Johns River-near
Jacksonville, Florida
Hundreds of bird & fledgings. We were quite
a distance away, but we think (are not sure) that these are
pelicans. |
Pelicans in Flight-ICW-near
Palatka. Florida
Our zoom wasn't quite strong enough to get the detail. |
|
Pelican, St. Johns River-Welaka, Florida
Pelicans are quite photogenic. |
Great Egret-St. Johns River-Oklawaha
River
One of the many beautiful birds seen on our St.
John's River trip. |
Stork-St Johns River, Florida
We finally were able to photograph a bird in flight. |
Heron-St Johns River-Ocklawaha
River
The water was so clear, it was hard
to see the difference between the area and the reflection. |
Key Deer-Florida Keys-Big Pine Key
Key deer are about half the size of other species
of deer. |
Airboat ride in the Everglades on the border of Lake Okeechobee. An Airboat is a boat with a huge propeller behind the passenger compartmaen, which propels the boat in VERY shallow water. We docked at the Roland Martin Marina in Clewiston just past the Clewiston Lock from Lake Okeechobee.
