DKCC---A Sample Summary of a Year's Events
Names of the individual members hosting the many events were deliberately omitted, due to security reasons.

The year started with the New Year’s Rendezvous at Sealine Marina in Miami complete with food, dancing and fireworks, followed two weeks later, by the combined Holiday Party and Installation of the Bridge and Board of Directors at the Surf Club on Miami Beach.

It was an eventful year. In January, the Super Bowl Party hosted by members was most enjoyable. We watched the Super Bowl and enjoyed a barbeque dinner.

The Chili Cookout at Boca Chita (Biscayne National Park) in February was a lot of fun and the food was wonderful. Chili’s ranged from mild to H-O-T. Boca Chita Rendezvous always have a large draw. The Mardi Gras Night Shore Party at the Coral Ridge Yacht Club was extra special. We really felt that we were at the Mardi Gras with our ornate jewelry, masks, New Orleans Benets and a host of other goodies. Of course our members always enjoy a good dinner and this evening was no exception.

We had a great time at the St. Patrick’s Day Rendezvous at the North Bay Landing Marina in March. The home made corned beef and cabbage was plentiful and most of us went back for seconds and thirds. The dinner including dessert had us waddling back to our boats. The rest of the weekend was relaxing. We swam, rested and enjoyed each other’s company.

April saw us back again at Boca Chita for barbeque ribs, a kite flying contest and a memorable weekend. Boca Chita is a wonderful destination.

The Anchorage Marina in Key Largo was the destination of the Memorial Day Rendezvous. Our members and guests enjoyed the fish fry, a waffle breakfast and dinner at a local restaurant. Swimming, fishing, conversation and relaxing made for a very nice time.

The Annual Cruise in May lasted 10 days. It started at the Lighthouse Yacht and Tennis Club in Lighthouse Point, went on to the Jib Marina in Jupiter, the Pirate’s Cove in Manatee Pocket, the Northside Marina in Stuart, the Outrigger Marina in Jensen Beach and on the way back to the Palm Harbor Marina in West Palm Beach, The Boca Raton Resort and then to our home port.

The 4th of July was celebrated at the Sealine Marina in Miami. We had a private room for our festivities, the use of the Marriott Hotel and of course the fireworks. The fireworks were so spectacular that it was decided to do the New Year’s Eve Party at this same location.

In September, we celebrated another holiday, Labor Day, with a successful weekend at B’hia Mar in Ft. Lauderdale. As usual, good food and comradeship were enjoyed.

The weekend Rendezvous in October at Sunset Harbor on Miami Beach was well attended. The Luau was fun and the food, delicious. Every one commented that we should do this again next year.
We love Boca Chita, so another rendezvous was held there in November, complete with a full grilled steak dinner (members supplied the side dishes). Our Cooks did an admirable job, the weather cooperated and we had a really good time.

The Holiday party in December was held at the home of our hosts. As usual, there was plenty of food and fun. The gift exchange had a novel twist to it and we all ached from laughing so much.

As you can see, DKCC is an active boating club with many activities scheduled each year. Please check our Calendar of Events for 2007.
